About the Founder

Bharatiya Kinnar Welfare Foundation - Rupali Malick

The founder of the Bharatiya Kinnar Welfare Foundation carries a deeply personal journey that shaped her life’s mission. In her early years, she once believed she was the only transgender person in the world—isolated in identity and misunderstood by society. This changed when she first encountered other transgender individuals at a railway station. That moment became a turning point in her life, opening her eyes to a shared reality marked by struggle, exclusion, and resilience.

Witnessing the harsh living conditions and lack of dignity afforded to the transgender community, she felt a strong responsibility to act. Rather than accepting societal neglect as the norm, she chose to challenge and redefine it. Her vision became clear: to build a world where transgender individuals are not merely tolerated, but respected, supported, and given equal opportunities to live with dignity.

Guided by compassion and an unwavering sense of purpose, she has dedicated herself to service beyond boundaries. With a heart driven by empathy, she has actively contributed to providing food, shelter, clothing, and education to underprivileged individuals, particularly within the transgender community. Her work reflects not just charity, but a commitment to restoring dignity and creating pathways for empowerment.

Today, she stands as a symbol of resilience, compassion, and transformation—working tirelessly to ensure that no one is left unseen or unheard.
